Why I started K-Beauty Wholesale
I first started exporting Korean cosmetics overseas in 2008.
A friend who was in Hong Kong at the time asked me to get Hanskin BB cream, which led my life to this point.
My friend and I also contributed to opening a Hanskin store in Hong Kong.

Time has passed since then, and I have been exporting Korean cosmetics overseas for the past 15 years. still……
K-beauty continues to grow.
At that time, the Korean Wave was limited to Northeast Asian countries such as Japan and China, and Korean cosmetics were also limited to these countries and were being exported little by little.
But now, the popularity of K-drama and K-pop abroad, Korean cosmetics have become popular not only in Asia but also in the United States and Europe.
In 2008, Korean cosmetics exports were about $370 million, but in 2022, last year, it was about $8 billion. Over the past 15 years, Korean cosmetics exports have increased approximately 20 times.
In 2008, most of overseas demand was for large brand cosmetics such as Amore Pacific’s Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Innisfree, and Etude House, but there was also steady overseas demand for small brands such as Hanskin and Dr. Jart+, Dr.G.
Now Dr. Jart is a brand of Estee Lauder in the United States, but in 2008, it was a brand created by a small company called Have & Be.
Why K-Beauty Wholesale Is Good
New brands continue to come into the market
The creativity and culture of Korean people seem to have matched well with the cosmetics market.
Many entrepreneurs have continued to create good cosmetic brands with creativity and functionality, which seems to have created a culture of the Korean cosmetics market where various brand products compete unlike overseas, where several large companies dominate the market.
This culture continues to increase the quality and competitiveness of Korean cosmetics.
The characteristics of the Korean cosmetics market, where quality and competitive small and medium-sized cosmetics brands continue to be born, are a great merit for overseas sellers who are challenging new Korean cosmetics sales.
For large brands, it is quite difficult to get products to sell. They ask buyers for a very large minimum number of orders and amount, and sometimes even review qualifications to determine if they can promote and distribute their products well.
However, for small and medium-sized brands, these restrictions are loose and it is relatively easy to get products to sell.
Small wholesale orders are also available.
And since there are many small and medium-sized wholesalers like me who export Korean cosmetics overseas in Korea, it is much easier for overseas sellers to get a chance to sell Korean cosmetics if they pay a little attention and try.
A university student in Southeast Asia, who shyly asked if she could order 500,000 won worth of various brands a few years ago, has now become a large seller who orders nearly 100 million won for just one brand.
Do you want to make money, too?
